Temporary Road Orders (TROs) are usually made when it is necessary to close roads and divert traffic to enable special events such as street parties, carnivals etc to take place safely or, more usually, when road works of some description are planned, e.g. highway repairs or utility services work involving gas, electricity, water or telephone maintenance.
TROs are generally in force for a period of 18 months, during which time the specified work to which they relate will take place. Notice of them is published in the local papers, e.g the Comet, and the Parish Council is usually provided with the relevant details of those affecting the Parish.
