The Parish Council has two formally appointed committees: Recreation Grounds and Staffing. It also two permanent Working groups covering Planning and Environment.
Recreation Grounds Committee
The Committee deals with management, and other issues, relating to the Great Wymondley and Little Wymondley Recreation Grounds (including the children’s playground off Tower Close); and the play equipment on the Siccut Road Village Green. Three Councillors (Peter Eblett Chair) Paul Harding and Caroline McDonnell) represent the Parish Council and all other members represent Wymondley Tennis Club and the regular hirers of the Little Wymondley Recreation Ground facilities.
Staffing Committee
The Committee deals with staffing issues such as recruitment, contracts and conduct. It comprises tw0 councillors: Barrie Gilbert and Dominic Griffiths.
Planning Group
The Group considers planning applications made within the Parish. It comprises three councillors: Paul Harding (Chair), Jane Boxall, and Barrie Gilbert.
Environment Group
The Group deals with a variety of issues, including village enhancement (bulbs, flowerbeds, street furniture etc); winter salting/gritting; trees, hedges, culverts, litter, fly-tipping, village greens; playgrounds; highways, footpaths and parking. It comprises two councillors: Caroline McDonnell (Chair) and Peter Eblett. (Resident participation is welcomed and varies according to circumstances/projects.)
